Quincy, FL – Over the years the Airport Authority Board for Quincy/Gadsden Airport has added to their hangar inventory, and today they have a total of 40 units. Their most recent expansion, which utilized the last of the land they have available for hangars, included five large, rectangular hangars. As an added enticement for people leasing the hangars, they included an ARM Aerospace Aero-Lift in each hangar.
"What this does, in effect, is substantially enhance the utility of each hangar," said Michael Jordan, Vice Chairman of the Airport Authority Board. "If the lessee has a second aircraft or if he wants to reduce his monthly rental obligation, he can sublet the overhead space. We are trying to maximize the hangar space we are able to create." Jordan added that the Airport Authority was able to capitalize on some existing federal grant provisions to be able to include the Aero-Lifts in the new hangar construction.
All of the new hangars, with the Aero-Lifts in place, have been spoken for. The airport still has a waiting list of people desiring hangars.
The issue of available hangars and waiting lists for hangar space seems to be a universal problem that is leading to reevaluations of existing hangar space, especially where developable land is out of reach. In many cases an Aero-Lift is the only practical solution.
ARM Aerospace provides High Density Hangar (HDH) solutions for individuals and commercial applications. ARMs solutions allow General Aviation aircraft to be "racked and stacked", which dramatically increases the number of aircraft that can be accommodated in existing hangars. The Aero-Lift and accessories can accommodate almost any type of single engine GA aircraft or helicopter. ARM Aerospace is headquartered in Tucson, AZ and maintains a presence on the web at www.armaerospace.com. Their phone number is 1.520.886.7329.
