TUCSON, AZ – Having developed a number of popular aircraft models, Glasair Aviation and Van’s Aircraft found themselves in need of additional hangar space. Both manufacturers opted to install an ARM Aerospace Aero-Lift as a means of getting greater utilization out of the space they already have. Both are pleased with the results.
The Aero-Lift uses a “rack and stack” concept to park aircraft over the top of other aircraft. In the case of single T-hangars, an Aero-Lift will effectively double the usable space in a hangar. At airports where hangar space is often unavailable or in the case of some people who own more than one aircraft, the Aero-Lift provides an economical alternative to building or occupying another hangar. FBO’s have also discovered they can realize more income from existing facilities by installing an Aero-Lift.
“Our showroom hangar only has so much space,” said Glasair Aviation President, Mikael Via. “Since we added the new Sportsman 2+2, we needed additional room to accommodate our prototype. An Aero-Lift forestalls the need to seek another building permit and people who visit our showroom are frankly intrigued with the arrangement.”
Tom Green, President of Van’s Aircraft, said: “We at Van’s Aircraft are extremely pleased with our ability to utilize the full height of our hangar, not just the floor space. The Aero-Lift works very well in accomplishing this goal and as we add new models to our showroom in the hangar it will become even more valuable.”
