FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

BAY HANGARS COULD SEE SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN UTILIZATION WITH AERO-LIFT

TUCSON, AZ – A recent study conducted by Embry Riddle Aeronautical University graduate students shows that there is a shortage of bay hangars and T-hangars in the United States. Waiting lists for both types of hangars significantly outnumber the available space.

There are substantially fewer bay hangars in this country, compared to T-hangars, though most bay hangars are considerably larger and have greater capacity for aircraft than T-hangars. “That capacity could easily be increased with the installation of Aero-Lifts,” said Max Anhoury, of ARM Aerospace. The study, which sought to determine hangar utilization in the U.S., was commissioned by ARM Aerospace, which manufactures the Aero-lift. “Outdoor tiedowns put aircraft at risk because of weather extremes and the threat of theft. By installing an Aero-Lift in a bay hangar or T-hangar, aircraft owners immediately enjoy a higher level of security. In the case of bay hangars, the owner, usually an FBO, will realize greater cash flow, while in T-hangars, both occupants will see lower hangar rents.”

The survey included 331 bay hangars on 103 airports within 30 miles of a Class B airport. Over 90% were filled to capacity and more than three-quarters of them have the required 15’ ceilings that would allow for adding one or more Aero-Lifts and “aircraft racking and stacking”.

One thing ARM Aerospace can say with certainty is that Aero-Lifts are considerably cheaper than new hangars. With bay hangar rents ranging from $133 to $796 a month, an Aero-Lift will pay for itself in a relatively brief period of time.

ARM Aerospace provides High Density Hangar solutions for individuals and commercial applications, dramatically increasing the number of aircraft that can be accommodated in existing hangars. The Aero-Lift can handle almost any type of single engine GA aircraft or helicopter.
